Catherine is a Senior Research Assistant at the Climate Change Litigation Initiative, having completed both her LLB (Hons) in Scots Law and LLM in Global Environmental Law and Governance at the University of Strathclyde. Catherine is now pursuing a PhD at the Center for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Law at the University of Eastern Finland, where she is researching international climate change law and governance as part of an international project funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme. Since graduating with her LLM, Catherine has worked as a legal consultant and researcher in various contexts. Some of her more recent contributions to the field include her role as a Research Assistant for the Climate Change Specialist Group under the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law and her position as an Ecological Law Associate with the Earth Law Center, where she has worked on legal cases to grant nature rights at the European Rights of Nature Tribunal. More recently, Catherine has been working on a consultancy for the UN Environment Programme Ozone Secretariat as a Senior Research Fellow alongside Iona McEntee.
